Boat is fairly fast and the battery lasts a good while. The less are cool and is a great beginner/ kids boat. My little boy (6yo) loves it and it's almost impossible to flip. Very impressed especially for the price.

This is a great little RC boat. Setup is simple. Too fast for a pool, great for a smooth pond or lake surface. The foam on the controller wheel is a nice touch. Bright red and blue LEDs are neat. I really like the max speed dial; I can reduce the speed a little when letting kids use it to soften the learning curve. The nose bumper actually stays on pretty well and will protect against mild collisions. I'm not sure it would save the boat from a direct collision at top speed. Some water present on the seal when I removed the cabin door after mild use. No water on the battery or internal components, but it seemed a little too close for comfort. I'll keep an eye on it. Battery life always seems like a disappointment with RC vehicles like this. Given its speed, I guess it's to be expected. Even still, I really enjoy this boat.

Really nice boat! This thing goes pretty fast, and handles great. I've took it out twice so far and the battery seems to last a decent amount of time.

This is a really fun and FAST remote-controlled boat.I charged up the beefy battery pack and noted the thick wires that connect to the motor. They are designed for high current. That clued me in that it was built for speed.It's well-built, with double rubber seals to keep water out. Just to be safe, I applied some silicone o-ring lube (not included) in order to make sure that it was as watertight as can be. (This is probably not necessary, but I had some silicone on hand so figured I might as well.)I put 3 AA batteries in the remote control, connected the boat battery to the internal leads and the LED lights on the boat lit up. I put the boat in the pool and activated the throttle. This thing MOVES!!!You can go slow as well, but if you open the throttle fully it really zips. The steerting is digital-proportional, meaning that if you move the rudder control a little, the rudder moves a little. If you move it a lot, you get a proportional response from the rudder. This is best for control and a feature only found in higher-end RC devices. When you open the throttle, the rudder becomes very responsive. That means you can zip around and make very tight turns when you're going fast. If you're just putting along a low speed, turns are much more gradual.There is also reverse, which kind of works, but is not an efficient way to move the boat.Watch your fingers! There is a little warning label to keep away from the propellor. I fully expect that anything that comes in contact with the spinning propeller would be sliced.The manual said that there is a silicone rubber slip-on cover that goes on the prow of the boat to help shield it against collisions. I couldn't locate that anywhere in the box.There is also a spare propellor and a little stand that holds the boat if you want to keep it on a shelf.This boat is definitely best used on an outdoor body of water like a pond. It's a bit too fast for a swimming pool. This is a lot of fun, and I would say that it's more for older kids and adults than young children.

Definitely worth the purchase

I have a rather large pool, 40' x 20', and this boat zips across it end to end, doing figure 8s in seconds. I have been running RC vehicles for many years and dang this little thing is fast. It comes with a 7.4v 2000mah battery, and before I started playing with it in the pool, I was considering trying out an 11v 2200mah battery I have from other vehicles.I was almost not able to keep it in the pool. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of the speed and steering when I was up on a plane.Very sluggish when trying low speeds and reverse is almost unusable. But once you get this up on a plane and have it zipping around, dang it's fast and fun. My pool is definitely too small. I may need to go try in a lake with a bit more surface area to play on.
